Introduction
This site provides instructions for participating in experiments that will become part of the contribution of EMICs to the 5th Assessment Report of IPCC Working Group 1 (Chapter 12). Every effort has been made to coordinate experiments with intercomparison projects such as: CMIP5, PMIP3, and PCMIP. Please see the Experiments page for a complete description of the experimental design and the Forcing page for boundary condition datasets. A pdf of the call for participation circular is available here or from the Documents page. If you would like to participate, please contact Andrew Weaver.
Requirements
Many experiments have been proposed but not all need to be done by all participants. In order to participate you must provide references to papers in refereed journals that describe your model set up and characteristics. Please include information according to the entries of Table 8.3 (page 646) of the Fourth Assessment Report of IPCC with the addition of an extra column for ocean sediments. Also provide a single paragraph description of the model which addresses the different climate system components (similar to those in Plattner et al. 2008). To make participation as easy as possible only global annual mean averages of quantities are requested. Model results may be emailed in ASCII format. Please see the Results page for details on the requested format and how to submit results.
