Photo of Lamplugh Glacier, a tidewater glacier in Glacier Bay, Alaska, with Mt Cooper in the background. Photo taken on 4 Sept 2016. Lamplugh is approximately 50 m high at the face and about 1 km wide. The glacier was the site of a massive rock slide this summer; these landslides are predicted to become more common as glaciers melt and no longer buttress the rock walls surrounding them.
