A rain shower moves over Lake Winnipeg on a windy day in July. A photo like this illustrates why it is difficult to forecast rain with high precision. Showers like the one seen here may span an area only a few square kilometres in size and last only a few minutes. It is easy to be missed by such showers on a day when rain was forecast or to be inundated when the chance of showers was indicated to be low. |
